First Shots: The Grand Campaign Kicks Off

The men of the District of the Ohio and District of Tennessee received their orders on the morning of July 1st, 1861. They embarked on trains, mounted up, and started their first marches of the Grand Campaign. The first shots were fired in a small cavalry skirmish at a cross roads village on the afternoon of July 4th. More to come in the future.
